Carla Spence @ Optimal Sport Newtown

Carla Spence grew up in Trenton, New Jersey and is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.  She began her professional career in the pharmaceutical industry at Bristol-Myers Squibb where she held a variety of positions from sales to marketing.  As a Therapeutic trainer for BMS in the Cardiovascular/Metabolic Division, Carla spent much of her time teaching and coaching new sales reps to enhance their disease state and product knowledge.  In 2016, after taking time off to start a family, Carla received her AAAI personal training certification and thus started her career w/ Optimal Sport.  But her time w/ Optimal began years before when she joined the gym as a member in 2008 and got hooked on the functional training program (now known as “The Optimal Workout”).  As a life long fitness enthusiast, Carla knows the value of keeping active and working out and she tries to instill this idea in all of her clients as well as through the Optimal Workout classes that she teaches.  Carla would like to help re-introduce fitness to men and women of all ages.  She believes that fitness in combination w/ proper nutrition is the key to a healthy and happy life.  Additionally, during the past 3 year, Carla has volunteered her time w/ the Pennsbury Athletic Association where she helps youth baseball players w/ their strength and conditioning to prepare them for the upcoming season.  Carla, who is now in her 3rd year of coaching/teaching at Optimal, would like everyone to know that with the right program and attitude we are capable of bringing out our inner athlete.
